Tokyo and Anime Tokyo Station, an anime exhibition base operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Video Association We have 268,178 people (as of February 23, 2026) from home and abroad as a facility that conveys the charm of Japanese animation to the world as a motto.

This time, the 5th Anime Archive Vision 2025-2026 “Preservation and Utilization of Anime Archives” will be held on Tuesday, March 17, sponsored by the Tokyo Station/Japan Video Association.
The use of animation will spread only if there is a reliable preservation. In the 1st to 4th installments of this series, the viewpoint that anime archives are “assets that create the future of culture and industry” and “infrastructure that supports the future of animation” has been shared, and the importance of developing foundations for long-term utilization has come to the fore.
In the fifth installment, experts who have accumulated practices at the forefront of preservation and utilization will gather to discuss the appearance of the archives that support the sustainable development of the industry by creating, education, human resource development, cultural inheritance, and sustainable development of industry. We will delve into a variety of themes that approach the core of archiving, such as physical preservation and digital preservation sites, utilization issues, access rights and curation according to purpose.
What is required now? Based on the basics that have been built up in the series 1 to 4, the issues at the production site, the current state of digitalization, and the current state of utilization, we will show the roles that archives and their bases should play in the future, and the potential to expand beyond that.

Joined Kyoshin Warehouse in 1991. Participated in the launch of the 1993 video media storage warehouse, “Kanshin Trunk Room.” Since then, he has been engaged in building and operating a system for storing and managing various media such as films, magnetic tapes, and paper materials such as movies and animations. Since 2022, he has been working to strengthen the archive system that crosses physical storage and information management as the manager of the Chofu East Sales Office and the head of the archive and record management department.

Specializes in music, animation, games, movies, television, media and copyright. In 2020-2023, he served as an assistant counselor of the Cabinet Office Intellectual Property Strategy Promotion Secretariat. Investigation and consultation advisor for the utilization of the Watabe Collection, an animation of Niigata University’s animation. Auditor of Animation Society. Participated in industry-academia-government collaboration projects such as copyrights, licensing negotiations, digital archiving, and regional collaboration projects.

Masaru Suzuki

After joining the company in 2004, he will be in charge of in-house system management as the general manager of the system department until 2021. Currently, as a Solution Expert, he mainly works to solve problems with partners who work with him both inside and outside the company. From movies such as “STAND BY ME Doraemon” and “The Man Who Called Pirates”, animation, commercials, games, exhibition footage, etc. are supported from the “digital management” aspect such as network server software.

Joined Terada Warehouse in 1999. He has been engaged in various certification projects, site development, equipment design, etc. in planning department, and since 2005 he has been in charge of system construction and business development of document, video and music content management. The content management system “TERRA SIGHT” is patented as an inventor (patent registration number: No. 6457679). Promote the planning, construction, and utilization of digital archives, leading the digital archives.
