Continuing animation that attracts attention worldwide is also emphasized from the point of view of animation archives. From January 1917 to January 2025, when Japan’s first animation was released, about 16,000 works were revealed, and about 180,000 episodes are currently confirmed. Until now, we have continued to evolve in a wide range of areas, being greatly influenced by production methods, production forms (methods, techniques, etc.), public forms, and changes in the original media. As a result, there are many problems that are difficult to solve on the individual company alone, and various schemes are underway, including industry, academia and government.
In this symposium “Anime Archive Vision 2025 ~All Anime Images to the Future~”, we will explore the possibilities of “anime video archive” with moderators and specialists.
