Nippon Animation Co., Ltd. (Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Kazuko Ishikawa) celebrated its 50th anniversary today, June 3, 2025. I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the fans who have loved Japanese animation works, and to all the people who have supported the work so far.

Our company has been promoting plans and renewal projects related to the 50th anniversary of the founding, including screenings and concerts, from June 3 (Monday) last year as the “50th anniversary year of Japanese animation”. Today, we are pleased to announce a new development that will be implemented to commemorate the 50th anniversary of our founding. Details of each project will be announced on our official website.

Our company was established in 1975 in Tama City, Tokyo as an animation production company. The “World Masterpiece Theater” series and “Future Shonen Conan”, which are representative works of “The Dog of Flanders”, are several decades after the broadcast. “Chibi Maruko-chan”, who continues to fascinate fans and makes the tea room lively every Sunday, is called the national animation. The work, which was filled with the thoughts of the founder, Koichi Motohashi, which was “creating animation that contributes to cultivating the mind,” has become a masterpiece that has passed down the times and passed down to the next generation. We will continue to strive to deliver a story that shakes the hearts of the viewers. Please look forward to the new world drawn by Japanese animation.

About 50th Anniversary Anniversary Art

Anniversary Art, which symbolizes the 50th anniversary of Nippon Animation’s founding, was broadcast in 1975, “Flanders’ Dog” and “Chibimaru”. It is an illustration of characters from a wide range of popular works such as “Ko-chan”, “Inadvertently Penelope”, and “Mirai Shonen Conan”.
The Anniversary Art was drawn by young animators belonging to Japanese animation by Yoshiharu Sato, who was involved in many works of “World Masterpiece Theater” series and was in charge of character design for “Romeo’s Blue Sky”.

Launched a new brand of raccoon Rascal

As a new brand of “Araguma Rascal”, we will develop “Hidy! Rascal”. “Hidy! Rascal” is an art series that expresses the characters and famous scenes that appear in the anime with a new and retro view of the world. In July of this year, a product sales event in Tokyo was also decided. Details on the date and time of the event will be announced at a later date. Please look forward to future developments.

Held the world masterpiece theater market in Osaka

It has been decided that it will be held at the Osaka venue in August of this year in response to the favorable reception of the “World Masterpiece Theater Market”, a product sales event of the “World Masterpiece Theater” series held at Keio Department Store Shinjuku until Tuesday, May 27th. We will sell items of popular works such as “The Dog of Flanders”, “Rascal the Raccoon”, and “Anne of the Red Gable”. Held “Family Anime Academy” at Tokorozawa Sakura Town

The 50th Anniversary Event “Family Anime Academy” will be held at Tokorozawa Sakura Town (located in Tokorozawa City, Saitama Prefecture) from Saturday, August 9th this year.
This event is a participatory event where three generations of parents enjoy “learning and feel” the 50 years of our journey. In addition to touching on the charm of the work, we also have programs unique to the “Family Anime Academy” such as workshops that will make you fall in love with each other, so please enjoy the learning and moving summer vacation you spend with the animation.

The musical “Romeo’s Blue Sky ~Kizuna~” will be performed in December

The musical “Romeo’s Blue Sky” was performed as a new stage performance in 2022. In this year, when the 50th anniversary of the founding of Japanese animation, the 50th anniversary of the broadcast of the world masterpiece theater, and the 30th anniversary of the broadcast of the anime “Romeo’s Blue Sky”, this year, in order to give depth to the story, the story has returned as a two-part work.
The first part of the musical, “Romeo’s Blue Sky ~Oath”, came to an end on May 11th (Sun). The second part of the musical “Romeo’s Blue Sky ~Kizuna~” will be performed at the Tennozu Galaxy Theater (located in Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo) in December this year. Details such as ticket sales will be announced at a later date. The story of friendship is finally complete. Don’t miss the inspirational finale!

Launched a new brand of “Future Boy Conan”

We will develop “The Future Boy” as a new brand of “Mirai Shonen Conan”. We are planning products that will make you feel like an adult, making a clear distinction from the products you are currently selling. In addition, “THE FUTURE BOY” products are scheduled to be sold only on the EC site. The product lineup and introduction of the sales start date will be announced at a later date.

Launched a free illustration distribution service for Rascal

We will start “Rascal Illustration Forest” this summer as a free illustration distribution service for education and childcare. “Rascal Illustration Forest” is a service that distributes the illustrations of “Rascal” of “Rascal”, the character of “Rascal”, to companies and public institutions that develop business for children, such as education and medical care. More than 100 illustrations are available, including coloring, alphabet tables, craft materials, and manners posters, in conjunction with the launch of the service.
