The Showa retro horror anime “Yamishi-shi” has been quietly created under the darkness of late-night broadcasts. It has been decided that the new series, “Yamishiki 16th” will be broadcast on TV Tokyo from Sunday, January 11, 2026.

What is “Yamishibai”?

A new sense of horror short animation series full of Showa retro atmosphere that shows the “picture-story show”, which is rare in modern times, with the theme of the strange urban legends around us. In July 2013, the anime “Yamishibai” was a hit as “a picture-story show horror that suddenly started on TV Tokyo late at night.” Since then, the 15th season, which is spelled out with an episode that reminds me of a single “remaining” character, was broadcast in July 2025.
Then, in January 2026, it was decided to broadcast the “Yamishiki 16th Period”, which will deliver an urban legend related to “Yui”.

Kanji Tsuda will appear in the 16th term as the role of a “uncle” at a picture-story show! !

It’s hard to believe that it’s been more than 10 years already, and I can vividly remember the time of the first recording. Maybe that’s why, this season, Taro-chan was also able to play without any discomfort lol. I’ve been participating since the second term, but at first I remember being puzzled by the wriggling view of the world, which was like a picture-story show that I had never done before. However, I think that color is the reason why it is loved so much. By all means this season, “Have a good day, have a look.”

Since there are many stories that are complete one episode, I basically play different characters every episode, but I’m the one who continues to act in such a situation. He met him in the twelfth term. It’s surprising that we’ve come to this relationship. I feel happy every time his appearance comes, and at the same time I am worried about how long I will have a relationship with him. Because it’s a dark play that you never know when what kind of bad luck will happen. We hope that all the viewers will be able to pay attention to the future of Ohara-kun.
