Tokyo and Anime Tokyo Station, which is operated by the Tokyo Metropolitan Government and the Japan Video Association, is “Anime more interesting, ANIM With the motto “E to the future for the future”, many people from Japan and abroad have visited the facility as a facility that conveys the charm of Japanese animation to the world.
At Anime Tokyo Station, the public recording event “Anime Tokyo Station Early Summer Gathering” was held on June 1st (Monday). On the day of the event, 52 people selected by lottery participated.

The event was held in two parts, the first part and the second part, and the moderator was Mina Tominaga. When Tomokazu Seki, a guest, appeared after Mr. Tominaga’s call, the audience welcomed them with a burst of applause. Mr. Seki was surprised, “It’s amazing! It seems that there are 1000 people (at the venue)!”
In the first part, a talk was developed while searching for Seki’s appearances using the comprehensive Japanese animation database “Anime Encyclopedia” installed at the Tokyo Station of the anime. When “PSYCHO-PASS Psychopath”, which Seki played the role of the main character “Shinya Kogami”, was featured, and he was able to show off his lines on the spot. “We have our style,” and “But you are the inspectors who take responsibility,” when you read aloud on the spot, a big applause erupted from the audience. Regarding Mr. Seki as a voice actor, Mr. Tominaga said, “I think he’s a voice actor who can erase his presence. I mean, you’ve been appearing in a lot of works, and on stage, it’s Mr. Seki who feels that he’s still the best until he can handle the sleeves. When I commented, Mr. Seki was surprised, but he said, “I’m very happy to be able to say that to everyone I respect!” Mr. Tominaga replied with humor, “When you are praised, you can return it like that! It’s a learning experience!”

In recent years, the two of them say that they are appearing in works that have continued for many years, such as the role of pandas in “The Spells”. Mr. Tominaga said, “That’s right, when the period of working on one work increases, it becomes difficult to act while maintaining the same voice and tension due to the growth of the voice actors themselves. I agreed, “It’s difficult to maintain my feelings until the next recording because there’s a gap between the first recording and the next appearance in the role of Misatsukawa Miya in ‘Kitsu no Yaiba’.” Mr. Tominaga also nodded, “I can understand it as a colleague. There are times when I’m imitating myself.”

Next, the topic shifted to the opportunity to become a voice actor. When I opened the flip that I had written in advance, there were Mr. Seki’s handwritten illustrations of “Devilman” and “Mazinger Z”. Mr. Tominaga exclaimed, “You’re good at it!” When I said, Mr. Seki replied, “When I was in the fourth grade of elementary school, I visited Mr. Nagai’s house.” Surprisingly, when I told the teacher about the surprising episode that I once played on the rooftop with the teacher, the venue roared. Also, Mr. Seki, who was addicted to the radio program “Animetopia” at the time, said, “When I called the broadcasting station, they said, ‘Come on.’ , I was able to meet Mayumi Tanaka and Saeko Shimazu. The 4th grade was the turning point.” Mr. Seki commented with a smile, “At that time, the adults had a lot of money. Please come and visit us.”

Then, we moved to the “animated quiz” corner, which immediately asks the quiz about the anime specified on the spot, which is the last corner of the first part. When the nominated audience designates “PSYCHO-PASS psychopath” and challenges the quiz, all the questions are answered correctly. The two of them applauded with admiration, “Amazing!” In the same way, Mr. Seki, who decided to take on the quiz, designated the anime as “Getter Robo”. When questions such as “What is the name of the genius doctor who made Getter Robo?” Mr. Seki said with a relieved expression, “I’m glad I was able to answer properly!”
The audience gave a big round of applause and laughter from the audience to the valuable episodes and breath-fitting conversations that could only be talked about by the two who have been active for a long time as a voice actor for a super-national anime.

From the second part of the recitation drama, another guest, Atsumi Tanezaki, appeared, and at the event of the anime Tokyo Station, she performed live “Kiri no Naka de” from the familiar reading drama “Arashi no Yoruni” series. Regarding Mr. Tanezaki’s appearance, Mr. Tominaga said that when the two of them co-starred in a program in the past, Mr. Tominaga called out to Mr. Tanezaki.
The three performed live performances with a sense of realism so much that the scenes come to mind, and Mr. Seki, in particular, played the three roles of the wolf, Gabu Barry, and Guillo, and played the roles perfectly. In addition to the live performance of the percussion, original BGM, and sound effects so far, the 4th recitation drama, which has also performed live flute as the first attempt, made the audience feel as if they were in the world of the work. The audience who gathered at the venue listened quietly to the reading drama that can only be heard here, and after the end, applause was sent to the stage.
After the reading drama ended, Yuichi Kimura, the author of the “Arashi no Yoru ni” series, appeared. Mr. Kimura said, “It was wonderful! There were so many characters, but the voices are amazing. When the voice actors play the words written in letters, I felt that I can live like this.” When Mr. Tanezaki, who played the role of the goat Mei, said, “It was cute,” and said, “I’m sorry…!”

Looking back at the event, Mr. Seki said, “I felt that the anime Tokyo Station was a very nice space to know the history of anime and to know the future. I also learned that such events are being held wonderfully, so I am very pleased that I would like to be more active in cooperation.” Mr. Tanezaki also commented, “I was very nervous to read aloud with my senior teacher, but it was a very enjoyable time. It’s an honor to be able to perform at such an event!”

The event, which was a big hit from beginning to end, will be distributed on the official Anime Tokyo Station YouTube channel for a limited time from June 13th (Sat) to July 12th (Sun).
